From April 29 to May 3, 2026, Senegal will host the Dance Biennial in Africa.

Guided by the unifying vision “I dance, therefore we are,”the 2026 edition reflects the vitality of choreographic scenes across the African continent and its diaspora. It is a philosophical invitation to question our shared humanity and the ways in which we inhabit the Earth. The Biennale also offers a space for dialogue and professional encounters focused on the challenges of structuring the dance sector in Senegal.

Set within the innovative environment of the Ecole des Sables and its surroundings, the program will reflect the concerns expressed by choreographers, dancer-performers, and professionals from the field. This edition will highlight 25 contemporary dance companies, including 10 Senegalese companies, and will open officially with a celebration of the International Dance Day.
