Ecole des Sables is inviting applications from 5 dancers from the African diaspora to take part in its Air de Temps project, which will first take place in Paris from 17 to 25 March, then from 2 April to 2 May 2025 in Toubab Dialaw, Senegal.
This programme will bring together dancers from Senegal and the diaspora.
THE AIR DE TEMPS PROJECT AT A GLANCE
The Formation Air de Temps aims to provide future dancers with an essential grounding, preparing them physically and mentally for a potential career on and off the stage.
Participants will learn the repertoire of the Jant-Bi II company (Senegal) and acquire tools for their development as dancers, performers and artistic collaborators.
They will also receive training in cultural administration and technical skills to give them a better understanding of the creative world.
PROFILE SOUGHT
The programme is open to 5 dancers who meet the following criteria:
– Issues of the African diasporas living in France
– With a solid technical background and an openness to fusing traditional and modern dance practices
– Available full-time for the full duration of the workshop in Paris and the training course in Senegal.
– Motivated and committed to the objectives of the programme.
– Pre-professional or professional experience in dance and/or artistic creation.

- 2 December 2024: Notification to the 10 shortlisted dancers
- 11 December 2024: Receipt of thematic videos
- 19 December 2024: Announcement of the 5 dancers selected for training in Paris and Senegal in 2025
