We are delighted to announce that Germaine Acogny has been awarded the prestigious Nonino Prize ‘Master of our Time’ 2025, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the prize.

Created in 1975 by the Nonino family, this prize honours visionary personalities who have profoundly marked our times, in a variety of fields. The Nonino family, renowned for its distillery founded on innovation and excellence, revolutionised the art of grappa with the creation of Monovitigno®, a single-varietal grappa, back in 1973.

The jury, chaired by Antonio Damasio, has chosen this year to celebrate Germaine Acogny for her immense contribution to contemporary dance and world culture. She joins an illustrious list of laureates, including Léopold Sédar Senghor (1985), Ariane Mnouchkine, Peter Brook, Renzo Piano, as well as numerous Nobel Prize winners from a wide range of disciplines.

This year's prize-winners also include Dominique de Villepin and other outstanding personalities.

The prize-giving ceremony, which will also mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Nonino Prize (1975-2025), will take place at the Nonino Distillery in Ronchi di Percoto on Saturday 25 January 2025 at 11.00am.
