With REPARATION NATIONNupen creates a collision between traditional, contemporary and hip-hop dance, opera and traditional African music, visual arts, live soundscapes, polyrhythmic electronic rhythms and an interactive installation in a dance-theatre show that highlights artistic narratives on the theme of the restitution of African cultural property.

REPARATION NATION is a production by and with BiPoC and POAD artists from Senegal, Namibia, Cameroon, South Africa, Ghana, the African diaspora in Hamburg and the Sri Lankan diaspora in Berlin. The ensemble, made up of a trumpet-playing composer from Berlin and a South African singer from Lübeck, creates a vision of the future that challenges the history of Europe and Africa.
