The Ecole des Sables, founded by Germaine Acogny, in partnership with the Bachelor of Education in Dance of the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK), is pleased to announce a call for applications for an exclusive artistic residency. This residency aims to bring together African dancers trained in contemporary African dance for a unique pedagogical and artistic collaboration with AHK dancers and students.

Candidates must submit a complete application package by 7 December 2024, including :
– A CV
– A letter of motivation
– Une vidéo de présentation artistique:
For the video, the ideal would be to present yourself and then dance in the same video: a self-introduction of one minute maximum in English or French followed by a solo improvisation of 2 to 3 minutes. The video doesn't have to be professional quality, it just has to be very clear, in a wide enough shot but close enough so that you can also see the gestures and the face. You can also submit a short extract of your own creation (3 minutes max).
– Two letters of recommendation

Costs
The costs for travel, housing, and food will be covered by the Amsterdam University of the Arts, ensuring that the selected dancers can fully focus on the artistic and pedagogical exchange.
