Live the dance and live the culture
Join us from
November 30 through December 12, 2026 for a transformative two-week workshop led by
Germaine Acogny, a leading figure in contemporary African dance. Held in the coastal village of
Toubab Dialaw, Senegal, the Workshop for the Elders invites participants aged
50 and older to reconnect with their bodies, with nature, and with one another through dance and the sharing of cultural experiences.
A holistic and heartfelt approach
Under the direction of
Germaine Acogny, who is also the lead instructor, the program focuses on the
the discovery or rediscovery of the body, in an environment where nature plays a central role. Regardless of the participants’ skill level, classes are taught in a single group, without any distinction based on ability; everyone progresses at their own pace and according to their own abilities.
Beyond dance, the workshop is an invitation to fully experience the culture and daily life of Toubab Dialaw.
