Wesley Ruzibiza is the new artistic co-director of Ecole des Sables. A leading dancer and choreographer in Rwanda, he is an associate professor at the CPARC research centres in Bordeaux, at the National University of Rwanda and at the Muda Africa School of Dance in Tanzania, as well as at various dance training and professionalization centres. He discovered contemporary dance and theatre with Arts Azimuts at the University of Rwanda's Centre Universitaire des Arts, where he was head of the dance department for 8 years in 2002.
He continued his professional training on the national and international scenes, in particular through artistic exchanges. He is a graduate of Germaine Acogny's Ecole des sables in Senegal, specialising in traditional and contemporary African dance, and holds a diploma in finance and project management.

He was also selected for the "Young Achievers Awards" of the Imbuto Foundation of the First Lady of Rwanda in 2010 and for the 2-year mentoring programme in artistic direction with the Sundance Institute in Addis Ababa, Utah, Bannf Centre Canada and BAM in New York.
